Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of RootPilot, including the website, application, AI agent, terminal, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use RootPilot.
Nature of the Service
RootPilot is a software platform that helps you manage infrastructure you connect by describing tasks in natural language. When your vault is unlocked, an AI agent may plan and execute commands on those servers, with visibility in the live terminal and confirmation flows for higher-risk actions. RootPilot is a tool. It does not replace your duty as operator of the systems you connect, nor does it guarantee a particular operational outcome.
Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. If you use RootPilot on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Vault, keys, and access
Access to connected servers depends on unlocking the vault. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your vault password and for any consequences of sharing it or losing it. You acknowledge that unlocking the vault enables RootPilot to use session credentials to run commands you request or approve. Locking the vault ends that access for the session.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for: (a) the servers and environments you connect; (b) maintaining backups and recovery procedures; (c) reviewing agent plans, commands, and terminal output before confirming risky changes; and (d) complying with your hosting provider’s policies and all applicable laws. You must only connect systems you are authorised to administer.
Acceptable use
You may not use RootPilot to: engage in illegal activity; probe, attack, or disrupt third-party systems without authorisation; circumvent security or access controls; abuse the Service in a way that harms other users or our infrastructure; or reverse engineer the Service except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these rules have been violated.
Changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service, including free tiers and experimental capabilities, with or without notice where reasonable. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Automated or AI-assisted changes to servers can cause downtime, misconfiguration, or data loss. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RootPilot and its operators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in the Canton of Vaud shall have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
