Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Unlyme SA, a Swiss company (“Unlyme SA”, “RootPilot”, “we”, “us”), for the websites, application, AI agent, terminal, vault, action log, dictation, billing, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use RootPilot. The Service is intended for people who administer systems they are authorised to control. It is offered primarily as a professional tool.
Who provides the Service
RootPilot is a service of Unlyme SA, Route des Flumeaux 48, 1008 Prilly, Switzerland. Unlyme SA may provide the Service itself or, at its sole discretion, through a local agent, affiliate, or other local company in a given country. That local company may contract with you, invoice you, collect tax, or process payments under local rules. The checkout, invoice, or payment screen will identify the entity that bills you. Appointing a local agent does not make that agent a separate operator of RootPilot unless Unlyme SA says so in writing. Unlyme SA remains the provider of the Service described in these Terms. Mandatory consumer, tax, or payment rules that apply to the local billing entity still apply to that billing relationship.
Nature of the Service
RootPilot is software that lets you describe a problem or task for infrastructure you connect. When your vault is unlocked, an AI agent may investigate, plan, and run commands on those servers. You can see work in the product. Some higher-risk actions ask for confirmation. RootPilot is a tool. It does not replace you as the operator of the systems you connect. It is not around-the-clock monitoring, not a backup or disaster-recovery service, not a guaranteed operations team, and not an official partnership with any model vendor. We do not warrant a particular operational outcome.
Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate registration information, and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for every action taken under your account — including actions by anyone you allow to use it, and actions the agent takes while your vault is unlocked. If you use RootPilot on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. We may reset an account password when providing support or securing the platform. That signs out existing sessions. You must then set a password you control.
Vault, keys, and access
Access to connected servers depends on unlocking the vault. You are solely responsible for safeguarding the vault password and for any consequence of sharing it or losing it. We do not hold the vault password in a form we can read, and we cannot reconstruct it for you. Unlocking the vault is your instruction to let RootPilot use session credentials to run commands you request or approve. Locking the vault ends that access for the session.
AI actions, confirmations, and logs
AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Confirmation prompts do not catch every dangerous command. Output stored in the product may be truncated. The action log is a record of what RootPilot recorded — not proof that nothing else happened on the host, and not a live monitoring feed. You must read plans, commands, and output before you rely on them. If you are not willing to take that responsibility, do not unlock the vault and do not confirm actions.
Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for: (a) the servers and environments you connect, and your authority to administer them; (b) backups and recovery procedures; (c) reviewing agent plans, commands, and terminal output before confirming risky changes; (d) the security and compliance of those systems; (e) your hosting provider’s policies; and (f) all laws that apply to you, including export controls, sanctions, and local data-protection rules. You must only connect systems you are authorised to administer. You accept all operational consequences of commands that run while your vault is unlocked or that you run in the terminal, including downtime, misconfiguration, data loss, lockouts, and claims by third parties.
Acceptable use
You may not use RootPilot to: engage in illegal activity; probe, attack, or disrupt third-party systems without authorisation; circumvent security or access controls; abuse the Service in a way that harms other users or our infrastructure; resell the Service except with our written consent; or reverse engineer the Service except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by law. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these rules have been violated, or if we must do so to protect the Service or other users.
Your content
You retain your rights in prompts, server data, and logs. You grant RootPilot a limited licence to process that content solely to provide, secure, and improve the Service, including sending task context to model and research providers. We may use de-identified operational metrics to keep the product working. We do not claim ownership of your servers or the data on them.
Plans, credits, and payment
Paid features, credits, and prices are shown in the product. Credits measure usage of the Service; they are not a bank deposit or stored-value account. Subscription credits may reset as the billing screens describe. Purchased credits are handled as those screens state. Unlyme SA may bill you directly or through a local agent or payment partner in your country. The merchant name, invoice issuer, payment processor, and tax treatment can therefore differ by country. The checkout or invoice is the record of who charged you. Fees are non-refundable except where mandatory law requires otherwise. We may change prices or the free tier with notice in the product or by email. You are responsible for taxes unless Unlyme SA or the local billing entity is required to collect them.
Changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service, including free tiers and experimental capabilities, with or without notice where reasonable. We do not warrant uninterrupted, timely, or error-free operation. We do not owe service credits or SLA remedies unless we expressly agree in writing.
Our intellectual property
The Service, branding, and software we provide are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Service as these Terms allow. You may not copy the Service, scrape it at scale, or use our materials to build a competing product.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Automated or AI-assisted changes to servers can cause downtime, misconfiguration, data loss, or security failures. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Unlyme SA, its local agents, and their operators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising from your use of the Service or from commands run on systems you connected. Subject to the next paragraph, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (i) the amounts you paid us for the Service during that period and (ii) one hundred US dollars (USD 100). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intent (Vorsatz), gross negligence (grobe Fahrlässigkeit), death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Swiss law or other mandatory law. You agree that this allocation of risk is an essential part of the agreement. The Service is inexpensive relative to the damage a bad command on a production server can cause. If you need a guaranteed operator, do not use RootPilot as one.
Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold harmless Unlyme SA, its local agents, and their operators from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of: your use of the Service; systems you connect; content you submit; your breach of these Terms; or your violation of law or third-party rights.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete data the product allows you to delete. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably suspect abuse or illegal use, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, live vault sessions end. We may delete or anonymise account data after a reasonable period, subject to legal retention duties.
Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. We may also announce material changes in the product or by email. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules and excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The courts of the Canton of Vaud shall have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. If you are a consumer and the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you additional rights or a local forum, those rights remain.
General
If a provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force. Unlyme SA may appoint or change a local agent for a country without your consent; that is how the Service is delivered, not an assignment by you. We may assign these Terms in connection with a reorganisation, merger, or sale of the Service. You may not assign them without our prior consent. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Notices to us must be sent to support@rootpilot.io.
